In the past thirty-five years, over fifty million babies have been killed in America….legally. It’s the new American tradition. To oppose the brutal practice of abortion, makes you and I “chauvinistic, old-fashioned, narrow minded anti-abortionists.”
The average homosexual male will only live to be 41 due mostly to the proliferation of AIDS in the gay population. He will have three hundred sexual partners in his lifetime. He’ll be the terminal bud on his family tree. Ellen celebrated her lesbian lifestyle on television and received the coveted Entertainer of the Year award. To oppose the growing gay movement to include gay marriages and parenthood, means you and I are “homophobic hate-mongers.” It’s a new American tradition.
In Alabama it’s illegal to pray in school…under any and all circumstances. You can read books that slander God and His guiding precepts and you can get a condom at a school health clinic, but you can’t pray. It’s part of a new American tradition that is sweeping God out of American public life. To oppose it makes you and I "ultra right wing fundamentalists”.
You are made to look like a fool in Biology class if you believe that God created the cosmos in six days. (If He is truly God, He could have done it in six seconds and made it look like it was 600 billion years old, had He wanted to!) To believe it makes you “unscientific”. It’s a new American tradition.
Some time your high school friends can make you feel pretty stupid for not drinking at a party or for saying “no” to a joint or for standing up to your virginity. The new youth culture tradition says, “if it feels good – do it.”
The question to ask when you wonder what’s right and what’s wrong is “is it tradition or is it truth?” Tradition won’t get you to heaven. Tradition doesn’t make people happy either, but truth will set you free.
